This college is affiliated with Indira Kala Sangit Vishwavidyalaya, which was established under Act XIX of 1956 of the Government of Madhya Paradesh. After the creation of new state, his Excellency, the Governor of Chhattisgarh Shri Shekar Dutta is the chancellor and administrative cum academic head of I.K.S.V.Khairagah.
In 1956, the then rulers of princely state of Khairagarh, donated their palace to open a University of Music and Fine Arts. His Magesty, the late Raja Birendra Bhadur Singh and her Magesty the late Rani Padmavati Devi named this University after their beloved daughter Indira who was passionately found of music.
To Join Indira Kala Vishwavidyalaya is a way to enjoy Indian Art forms.I.K.S.V., the oldest University of performing and Visual Arts in Southeast Asia, offers a long list of subjects and courses related to diverse art forms like Classical Vocal Music (Hindustani & Karnatic), Classical Instrumental Music (Hindustani & Karantic), Classical dance styles (Kathak & Bharatanatyam), Folk Dance and Music, Painting, Sculpture and Graphics and other subjects like History of Indian Arts and Culture, Theatre and Various literatures.
University is basically involved in teaching and research in Indian Performing and Visual Art forms. The University has a good number of affiliated colleges and recognized examination centers through out India. We are privileged for being affiliated with such a renowned university.
Library:
The library has collection of large number of Books, Audio Tapes, CD’s / DVD’s, Records, Spools & Video Cassettes. It also has a good collection of Video slides on paintings and sculptures by “Indian masters”. Listening facilities are also available for the students and the scholars in the listening Room of the library. It also stocks a noteworthy collection of the works by the contemporary master painters of India, folk and triable artist of different reasons. The library regularly subscribes to a number of periodicals.
Computer Centre:
The Computer centre is providing a broadband Internet facility. A centre gives maximum benefit to students,
researchers and creative artists. The services provided by the centre are transforming the entire concept
of Music Learning, Music Teaching and Research.
